Nasya Karma – Therapeutic Nasal Drops

Nasya Karma is one among the Panchakarma treatment in Ayurveda, It is a purification method by which either the medicated oil or churna (powder) is administered through nasal passage (either in one nostril or both of them). Nasya Karma is also termed as Nasyam. Nasya is very useful in the diseases related to neck, shoulder, cervical, mouth, nose, eyes, ear, head, brain, and hairs.
Nasya Karma Procedure
- Person should be lying on a bed .
- Gentle massage over face, neck and head will be given by some particular ayurvedic oil for a few minutes and after massage we provide light herbal steam locally.
- After Massage and steam, the Nasya medicine is administered in each nostril and again gentle massage is given for better circulation of blood.
- After that Person should do gargling with herbal Luke warm water for 5 minutes.
- In the end Dhoompanam ( herbal smoking ) is administered as a Paschaat kerma.
- After Nasyam person should cover their head and ears by a cloth or cotton
- They should not consume any cold items after procedure and even one should not use A.C after procedure.
Duration
3 day’s, 5 day’s or 7 day’s, may be extended to 21 days according to the condition.
