Understanding Piles (Hemorrhoids): Causes, Symptoms, and Ayurvedic Solutions

What are Piles?

An incredibly painful and uncomfortable intestinal condition is piles. The primary cause of this condition, sometimes referred to as haemorrhoids, is the distention and congestion of the internal and exterior venous plexuses around the anal canal.

It is known as “Arsha Roga” in Ayurveda, and it is brought on by a Tridosha imbalance. These disorders cause lumps or irritated tissues around the anal canal, as well as swelling of the lower anus and rectum veins. Constipation and straining during defecation are related to it (when passing stool).

Patients at Ayurhridayam Ayurvedic Clinic in Lajpat Nagar with piles frequently report bright red blood after bowel movements or protrusion of material through the rectum that goes away after bowel movements. Because the tissues supporting the rectum and anus deteriorate with age, piles are more likely to develop.

Types of Piles (Hemorrhoids) Stages

There are two different kinds of piles: internal, which start in the rectum, and external, which grow in the anus. However, it can be divided into four stages based on the problems. The natural method of ensuring relief from piles is through ayurvedic treatment, which offers customized care based on the patient’s condition and stage.

Reasons for Hemorrhoids in Piles

There exist multiple potential causes for the emergence of piles. Here is a summary of these factors:

Untreated Constipation: The underlying cause of piles is either chronic constipation or irregular bowel movements.

Low-fibre diet : If you don’t get enough fibre or other essential nutrients from your diet, you may develop haemorrhoids.

Pregnancy: The rectum and anus, which stop straining during bowel movements, are under pressure from the larger uterus.

Long periods of standing or sitting: Such a sedentary lifestyle diminishes the digestive system’s ability to function efficiently. Diseases like piles can thus arise with ease.

Restricting Your Expulsion: Restricting your excretion can also lead to piles and other digestive problems.

What Piles (Hemorrhoids) Symptoms Are There?

The following are some typical symptoms that piles sufferers typically encounter:

Severe pain: Around the anus area, there is a firm, occasionally painful bump. Extreme burning sensations are also occasionally felt.

Itching: After defecating, the region surrounding the anus becomes red, uncomfortable, and itchy.

Incomplete Evacuation: Despite excreting, the patients still feel full or heavy in their bowels, which makes them feel less refreshed.

Blood discharge: Blood may also be observed following a bowel movement in severe and long-term piles situations.

Excreta in excruciating agony: The patient passes stool in excruciating pain.
